The International Baccalaureate (IB) is a program offered worldwide, which gives students the opportunity to take University level coursework while still in High School. As part of its mission, the IB focuses on training students to become knowledgeable, inquisitive and confident global citizens, preparing them to take leadership roles in future careers.
The IB course offers an in-depth exploration of the subject matter and aims to improve students’ existing skills in reading, writing and critical thinking. IB students are meant to complete a wide range of courses toward the attainment of their diploma, but can also opt to take select courses without completing the entire IB program.
Research shows that IB students have higher levels of critical thinking, are more motivated and produce higher test scores, and grade point averages than their counterparts.

IB Higher Level (HL) Essay
A 1500 word essay based on a literary or non-literary work studied in class. We offer guidance in:

IB Extended Essay

Individual Oral (IO)
A 10 minute oral presentation based on the comparison between literary and non-literary sources in relation to a common global issue, followed by a 5 minute question period. We will help you with:
- Understanding a key component of your IB English Examination
- Choosing your texts
- Working with pre-selected texts
- Defining and selecting a global issue
- Practicing and fine-tuning your speaking skills
- Building confidence and knowledge in answering any question on the topic of your choice
